How to start your city in Theotown? Ultimate Guide for beginners!

Introduction: I have been obsessed with city building for the past month. While my dream is to be able to play Cities: Skylines. I'm only able to play this mobile game (Theotown). I hope this blog post can be useful for beginners who wants to start building cities in Theotown, or maybe in real life. 


1. Plan your city

Planning your city before building might help to make your city more modern or more urban. Plan your city style: American, European, or Asian. These styles will determine the way you're going to build your cities. You can also pick whether you want your cities to be gridded (typical American city) or organic (European City). You can also find inspiration by looking at cities in google maps to help you!




2. Follow the road hierarchy

This is the most important thing to make your city realistic. Most urban and modern city follow the road hierarchy. The road hierarchy consists of:

Highways: the road that connects a city to other cities 

Arterials: Roads that connects directly to a highway. This road has multiple lanes to cope with heavy traffic.

Collectors: These roads connect the local roads to arterials.

Local Streets: These are the roads that houses local shops and housing.


3. Download plugins from the store

By simply downloading plugins, you can make your city look nicer and be more efficient. Downloading plugins will drastically improve the look of your city. It also enhances your style of choice! Making building types more diverse or make your airport realistic. With the help of plugins, I can say that the possibilities are endless!


4. Watching or reading tutorials

This is how, me personally learn to make good cities. I recommend you watch YouTube videos or tutorials to get the visual idea of how to make a good city.
